Aluminum profiles play a crucial role in China's industries, using aluminum bars and electrolytic aluminum as their main raw materials. After melting and extruding the aluminum bars, factories create aluminum materials in various shapes. Thanks to technological advancements and improved treatments, aluminum alloys have gained popularity as versatile metals in multiple industries.
Based on how they are used, aluminum profiles can be split into two categories: construction profiles and industrial profiles. Construction profiles are mainly used in building and decorating, like for windows, doors, and curtain walls. Industrial profiles are mostly used in aerospace, transportation, machinery, and electronics.
Aluminum profiles are classified into seven types based on their surface treatment methods: anodic oxidation, electrophoresis, powder coating, fluorocarbon coating, thermal break, wood-grain finish, and aluminum-wood composite.
Aluminum profile could be separated into 9 series:
----1xxx Series: 1050,1060,1070. 1000 Series aluminum sheeting is also called as "pure aluminum sheeting", the purity of 1000 series is the highest reaching to over 99%
----2xxx Series: 2A16, 2A12, 2A06, high hardness, the copper element takes the large element around 3-5%. 2000 Series aluminum sheeting is aviation aluminum and is rarely used in the general industry.
----3xxx Series: 3003, 3A21 as the representative, also regarded as "rust-proof aluminum plate". The most element is Manganese, the content is around 1.1-1.5
----4xxx Series: 4A01, 400 Series holds a high content of silicone, around 4.5-6.0%. It could be used for construction, machinery， especially for forging and welding. Low melting point, corrosion resistance
----5xxx Series: 5052, 5005, 5083, SA05. 5000 Series is one of the mature series
----6xxx Series: 6061 mainly include Magnesium and silicone, which concentrates the strength of 4000 series and 5000 series, it is a kind of cold-treated aluminum forging products. Easy to spray, high intensity, anti-corrosion. Kemet is mainly applying 6xxx series in production.
----7xxx Series: 7075, the main element is Zinc. Frequestly used for aircraft
----8xxx Series: mostly used for bottle cap, applicable for heatsink and foil
----9xxx Series: Be created for the appearance of other alloy element
